Nerd Alert: Dictionary of Numbers
These data are for re-districting purposes and only include the race/Hispanic distributions for the total population and the voting age population for multiple geographies in each state. However, even this snippet of data reveal quite a bit about an area. Is it growing or declining? Is it becoming more diverse? How different is the race/Hispanic composition of the voting age population from the children in a community?
Highly recommended. This interface provides state-by-state summaries, including population data back to 1910 and race/Hispanic data back to 1980. Also available from this site are pdfs for various levels of geography: states, counties, places, and metro areas.

Find out if your area gained or lost population, whether it is getting older or younger, and how much of the growth in the last decade was due to the Hispanic population.

Voters vs Children
Do children and voters share the same race/Hispanic distributions? This differential is more pronounced if one compares the 65+ population and the <18 population, but those data are not available yet. This is a blurry sneak preview of the growing demographic divide. Compare the crude indicator for 2010 with 2000 or compare these indicators across the US.
