This table provides a capsule summary of all Census 2000 data files distributed by PSC. If you need a brief reminder of the contents of these files, click on the links under the Contents column. If you are unfamiliar with Census data products refer to Subject Areas for a more complete description of these files and the modifications we have made to them.

State population counts for total population and population 18+ by race and Hispanic or Latino.
Modified redistricting data were used as input. The coding of race has been simplified from 63 to 6 categories. Several measures were created based on different assumptions of the multi-race categories. Data were written in a fixed format. Selected population and housing characteristics.
Population counts for many detailed race and Hispanic or Latino categories, and American Indian and Alaska Native tribes.
Combined 40 separate files into 1 file (with the exception of several large states which have multiple files). The geographic information is in fixed format, while the tables still remain in a comma delimited format. This file is hierarchical because not all tables are available for all summary levels. Provide a data dictionary that reflects modifications. Provide a SAS program that illustrates how to read the hierarchical file. Summary Short form [100%] Blocks Data
