| Abstract: | This file presents a general comparability between the census tracts in 1970 and the pre-1980 census tracts, which were identified in late 1978 and used in enumerating the 1980 census. The file provides state, county, and tract codes for 1970 and pre-1980. In addition, it has the number of pre-1980 census tracts with territory in common with the 1970 tracts and the number of 1970 tracts with territory in common with the pre-1980 tracts. All tracted areas in the United States are covered, there are 44,550 records, each with a logical record length of 72. |
