| Abstract: | A 1 in 300 sample of household records in Taiwan was taken as part of the year end check conducted by the registration officials in December, 1967. A two stage sample design was utilized in which 57 townships were selected in the first stage and a fraction of households were selected from each township so as to provide equal representation of each stratum of the sample. The same strata and townships were used as in the KAP surveys. The data are arranged by household so that all persons in the same household can be identified and treated as one unit. Each tape record contains information common to all persons in the household and individual data for one male and one female household member. There are two or more tape records (always an even number) for each household. Since each household does not contain an equal number of males and females, some of the individual records are blank. |
