Abstract:This study includes fertility data for actual groups or cohorts of women as they pass through the child bearing years, 14-49. The data are for calendar years 1917-1980. Fertility is measured as age-specific fertility rate, age-specific period fertility rates, and cumulative age-specific cohort fertility rates. All can be stratified according to year, race, and birth order. Cohorts are defined as births between July 1 and June 30 of each calendar year. Cohort year plus age equals calendar year. These data come from the Division of United Statistics, National Center for Health Statistics. Published tables are available.
Universe:All women in the United States aged 14-49.
