Abstract:The 1985 Ego-Alter file is specifically designed to facilitate access to detailed information collected in the 1985 Wave of the Panel Study of Income Dynamics (PSID) regarding retrospective histories of marriages, childbirth, adoption, and substitute parenting.
Universe:All households in the United States as of 1967. The study consists of two samples: an equal probability sample of households in the 48 conterminous states and a sample of low income families with heads less than 60 years of age drawn from the sample.
