| Abstract: | The Bureau of Labor Statistics' Supplementary Data System (SDS) is a comprehensive effort to standardize occupational injury and illness data from State workers' compensation information to achieve some degree of comparability. The primary source of information for the SDS is a first report of injury or illness, which employers and insurance carriers submit to State workers' compensation agencies. Topics covered include nature of injury or illness, occupation, part of body effected, sex of employee, source of injury, etc. |
