| Abstract: | This study is part of a collection of data on aging from five participating countries (Indonesia, Korea, Myanmar(Burma), Sri Lanka and Thailand). The items included in the study cover demographics, living arrangements, physical health and function, mental health and cognition, health behaviors, social activities, work and occupation, education, housing, social support, intergenerational exchange and economic circumstances. It included specific test for sight, hearing physical performance, cognitive function, morale and depression. Data were collected from the respondent and from an informant. |
| Universe: | Individuals aged 60 and over from randomly selected households in purposefully selected areas of each of the study countries. In Thailand, Bangkok and four geographical regions representative of the country as a whole were chosen. From each region, one municipal area and two or three provinces were randomly selected according to census data. |
