Abstract:The MIDB is a comprehensive source of all-payer, patient-level data, which includes virtually all inpatient activity at Michigan acute care hospitals. The MIDB contains reports for market share, patient demographics, outcomes, and utilization. The MIDB includes financial and clinical information on Medicare patients to help hospitals assess quality of care and to control costs. Variables include cardiac care unit days, length of stay, up to seven diagnoses, quality measures, race, and expected payment source.
