| Abstract: | In 1964-1965 the Latin American Demographic Center (CELADE) sponsored the collection of fertility and family planning data in typical Latin American area (rural, urban, and highly urbanized). The purpose was to get (a) an understanding of levels and trends of fertility, (b) attitudes and opinions toward desired family size and family planning, (c) and the use of contraceptives, attitudes toward their use, and means of communicating about them. Information was also collected on demographic, economic, social, and psychological factors. |
