Printing - How to Kill Unix Print Jobs

To kill a print job, find the job number:

lpq -Pqueue

where queue is the print queue the job was sent to. Thus, to kill a job on hallway:

lpq -Phallway

hallway: hallway is ready and printing

hallway: Rank Owner Job Files Total Size
hallway: active sturner 24577 10052 byte
hallway: 1st lisan 565 /nb 25742 byte
hallway: 2nd lisan 566 /nb 25742 byte

To remove a print job:

lprm -Phallway 566

One must own a job in order to be able to remove it from a print queue.
