Printing - How to Send Jobs to the Printer
To print from UNIX at the workstation prompt, type:
pme filename
The user will be asked to specify the format of the output by this prompting script:
- Printer queue [orion]
- Fancy output [n/y]
- Landscape [n/y]
- Number of columns [1/2]
- Headers [y/n]
- Gaudy output-elaborate headers [n/y]
- Number of copies [1]
- Alternate font [n/y]
Orion is the default printer. It prints fast and two-sided. Other choices are: dp, econ1, aging, soc, and hallway. DP also prints two-sided.
For printing most statistical package output you should choose fancy and landscape. You can ignore all other options. If you are at a remote location (not in Ann Arbor), FTP output to your local system and print.
