Q:

I am using the "Immigrants Admitted to the US" files and would like to compare my results with the statistical yearbooks that the Immigration and Naturalization service produced. I'm not finding these on the INS website.

A:

These yearbooks are now part of Homeland Security. The yearbooks for 1996 - 2007 are on-line:

http://www.dhs.gov/files/statistics/publications/archive.shtm#1

The UM Hatcher Graduate library has the yearbooks from 1978 - 2003:
JV 6414 .A4

There is a name change. Starting in 2002 the title is [year] Yearbook of Immigration Statistics. In previous years it was known as the [year] Statistical Yearbook of the Immigration and Naturalization Service.
