I have created a stata file, but when I click on it, it will not open. I can open it if I invoke stata and open it from stata, but I want to be able to click on it. What is the problem?
A:
Right now your computer is associating *.dta files with an older version of stata.
Go to Tools - Options - File Types in Windows Explore and change the *.dta extension to point to the same path that your stata icon is pointing to. For instance, P:\NT_APPS\Stata11MP\StataMP.exe.
