Q:

How does a person compress large files in a Windows environment?

A:

When you are in a situation where space is running low on your desktop or you are going to send on a large data set and need to compress your file, WinZip is the program to use. When WinZip is opened from you desktop the first window will show a task bar with four icons.

To start a new task choose 'New' from the task bar. A new archive window will open. Here is where you define where you want to save your zipped file.

Next you specify what files and folders you want to Zip. Select the "File/Folders tab" and proceed to mark what you want to compress. After you have finished Your file should be in the location that you chose.
