Reading compressed data in SPSS
Unlike SAS, SPSS does not have the capability to read compressed data for input. If a user is in need of having source data uncompressed they should get in contact with the data archive group.
Due to overly large uncompressed file sizes, requests for having uncompression preformed on data files housed on archive file space is limited.
