Only a subset of respondents were coded on these questions in the 1980 PUMS. MIGWT (P46) indicates whether or not the respondent is in the migration/place of work/travel time sample. Approximately, half of the respondents are included in this sample. The tables below show that the sampling fraction does not vary across geographic units:
If you are interested in weighting results that include these variables to population totals, use a weight of 40 (2*20) for the 5% sample and 200 (2*100) for the 1% sample.
