Constituency-Level Elections Archive (CLEA)

a PSC Data Resource

Resource Source:Institute for Social Research (ISR)

Abstract

The Constituency-Level Elections Archive (CLEA) is a repository of detailed election results at the constituency level for lower house legislative elections from around the world. In the US this would be the House of Representatives. There are data from 1788 through 2008 for the US. There is also good coverage for Northwest Europe and Canada. Other country coverage is sparse. The motivation is to preserve and consolidate these valuable data in one comprehensive and reliable resource that is ready for analysis and publicly available at no cost. This public tool is expected to be of use to a range of audiences for research, education, and policy-making. There is a sub setting tool that allows a user to download data for selected countries and specific years.
