Passwords for Users with Restricted Data Contracts
Users with restricted data contracts must change their passwords at least twice a year. Some contracts require password changes every 90 days. Users will receive an automated notice when your account is due for a password change.
Users with stand-alone computers will receive automatic notifications when logging on
To change your password, in Windows, go to:
Windows XP: CTL ALT DEL then follow prompts to Change PasswordWindows 7: Start ->Settings->Windows Security then select Change Password
Password Strength
Your password must meet the following guidelines:
- It must be at least 8 characters long
- Your PSC password should not be the same password you use for your social media accounts or for other on-line transactions that take place in the friendly coffee shop down the street
- It should not contain your user name or any part of your full name
- It should contain a character from at least two of the following:
Upper case letters A, B, C, . . . Z
Lower case letters: a, b, c, . . . z
Arabic numerals: 0, 1, 2, . . 9
Non-alphanumeric: !, $, >, etc.
