A recent Pew study found that 55% of adults in the US labor force have experienced some unemployment, a pay cut, a reduction in hours, or have been involuntarily reduced to part-time status in the past 30 months. Sheldon Danziger says that preexisting economic conditions have compounded the severity of the recession.
