George Alter elected vice-president of the Social Science History Association

George Alter has been elected vice president of the Social Science History Association (SSHA) for 2009-2010. He will serve for one year and then becomes president in 2010-2011. SSHA fosters interdisciplinary approaches to historical research, and its annual meetings bring together historians and scholars from all the social sciences.
