Hermalin and Lowry find surprising smoking pattern for Chinese women

Al Hermalin and Deborah Lowry discovered that cigarette usage patterns among women in China vary from those in most Western countries. Although only 1 in 25 Chinese women smoke -- compared to 1 in 6 American women -- smoking is much more common among older than younger women.
