Elisha Renne has been awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship for 2012. She is one of 181 mid-career scholars, artists, and scientists currently supported by Guggenheim for both their prior achievement and their exceptional promise. Renne's current work looks at the material expression -- particularly, in veils and turbans -- of religious reform in Nigeria.
