Pfeffer et al. find increase in college completion rates among disadvantaged students attending 2-year colleges

a PSC In The News reference

"Law of Averages" - Inside Higher Ed. 08/27/2012.

A new study by Jennie Brand, Fabian Pfeffer, and Sara Goldrick-Rab finds that while enrolling at a community college appears to decrease college completion rates among more-advantaged students who otherwise would have attended 4-year colleges, it has a modestly positive effect for disadvantaged students who otherwise would not have attended college -- a group that represents the majority of community college-goers.
