Growing Socioeconomic Inequalities in Education and the Role of Parental Wealth

This analysis uses data from all waves of the Panel Study of Income Dynamics (PSID) to assess cohort trends in socioeconomic inequalities in educational attainment. In particular, it estimates the effects across generations of parents' wealth, income, occupation, and education on the level of education achieved by their adult children at ages 20 and 25.
