COSPONSOR WITH SURVEY RESEARCH CENTER
This presentation focuses on the impact of mental and physical health problems during childhood years on a variety of SES measures during the adult years. The SES measures include education, income, and wealth. Two data sets will be used from America and England- the PSID and the 1958 British cohort. We find long-term effects of both physical and mental health issues during childhood on these SES outcomes but the long-term impact of the mental disorders is much larger.
