Dr. Broman specializes in the areas of substance abuse and mental health, HIV risk behavior, sociology of families, and racial inequality. Recent and ongoing projects include an NIAAA-funded project on Alcohol Use among African-American College Students; a NIDA-funded project on Race and Adolescent Drug Use; a project on pregnancy prevention among low-income teens, and a project on ethnic diversity among African-Americans and substance use.
