Dr. O'Malley's work centers on two long-running national research studies: Monitoring the Future: A Continuing Study of the Lifestyles and Values of American Youth, and Youth, Education, and Society. His scholarly research has been at the forefront in integrating research on the psychosocial, contextual, and epidemiological influences on tobacco use, alcohol use, and the use of illicit drugs.
