Dr. Valliant has made important contributions to survey methodology in the areas of imputation for missing data, variance estimation for complex survey data, record linkage, and statistical software development. In a current NSF project he studies how to implement group methods in surveys, particularly those concerning the economy, health status of the population and other applications in the social sciences.
