Dr. Lowry’s research focuses on the reciprocal relationships between social conditions and individual health in China, aging and elderly well-being in the midst of China’s economic development and urbanization, and the strategic responses of (especially rural) Chinese families and individuals to social change. She is particularly interested in mixed-methods research.
