Dr. Allendorf’s research interests fall at the intersections of demography, family, gender, and international development, with a regional focus on South Asia. Much of her work has explored the determinants and consequences of women’s agency. Currently, she is focusing on household structures and family formation, including how these structures are changing over time and their links to well-being.
