Dr. Logan's research is broadly concerned with economic history and applied demography. Recent work includes comparative analyses of nutrition in the historical past, and geographic differences in returns to education in 20th century America. Current work includes projects on how HIV/AIDS impacts fertility in sub-Saharan Africa, and how taste endogenized in the U.S. and Europe during the late 19th century .
