This paper examines the relation between the availability of health personnel and infant mortality by sex of infant among ethnic groups with different cultural traditions and with varying levels of socio-economic development. Micro-data from the 1990 Census of China for Xishuangbanna and Yanbian Prefectures are used.

The Setting

Dataset(s): 12.1% sample of 1990 Census of China data for Xishuangbanna Prefecture, Yunnan Province. and 50% sample of 1990 Census of China data for Yanbian Prefecture, Jilin Province.
