Temporal and Regional Variation in the Strength of Education Homogany

Publication Abstract

Raymo, James, and Yu Xie. 2000. "Temporal and Regional Variation in the Strength of Education Homogany." American Sociological Review, 65(5): 773-781.

In this comment, James M. Raymo and Yu Xie extend Jerome Smits et al's analysis to an examination of longitudinal data. Using data for two marriage cohorts in China, Japan, Taiwan, and the US, Raymo and Yu Xie reexamine two of Smit et al's main conclusions about regional and temporal variation in educational homogamy.
