This collection of articles presents findings from the World Values Survey (WVS) and the European Values Surveys (EVS). In planning the fourth wave of the World Values Survey, the Association set a high priority on attaining substantially better coverage of African countries and Islamic societies. As a result, the articles is this volume deal with the relationship between Islam and democracy, Islamic worldviews, culture and democratic institutions, and the changing role of gender. Survey findings cover societies such as Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Algeria, Pakistan, India, and other regions of the world.
