A supplemental grant is requested to cover the expenses for constructing a source book and for a more in- depth analysis of the values survey data collected from a large number of Islamic countries. Given the distinctiveness and complexity of the data sets and the need to more effectively disseminate the data among social scientists, it is necessary to (1) merge the data into a single SPSS file; (2) document the sampling procedures in each country; (3) provide a uniform codebook that shows the similarities and differences in the questionnaires used in the different Islamic countries; and (4) construct a series of tables that (a) compare the responses across Islamic countries, and (b) break down these responses in terms of gender, education, and income.
