Arbitron Agreement for Consulting Services

Investigator:   Richard L. Valliant

Through a consulting agreement with Arbitron, Dr. Valliant will provide the following services in support of the Arbitron Research Quality Strategic Plan to increase the value of current data samples through improved estimation methods, improved perceived value for small markets and broaden industry views of research quality, without requiring additional survey data collections, by:



1-reviewing Arbitron's current statistical methods;

2-reviewing analyses of Arbitron's current statistical methods that were conducted by Arbitron;

3-overseeing and providing direction to a graduate student who will be analysing Arbitron's current statistical methods for the project;

4-recommending, developing and refining new statistical methods for Arbitron's use;

5-providing a written assessment of the analyses and methods; and

6-at Arbitron's request, presenting Consultant's assessments to the Media Research Council, Radio Advisory Council, Advertising/Agency Advisory Council, Owners Operator Caucus and/or other forums.
