Evaluations of State of Louisiana's "Valued Added Teacher Preparation Assessment Model"

To serve as evaluator-in-chief of the evaluation of the grant entitled "Value-Added Teacher Preparation Assessment Model: A Bold Step Forward in Preparing, Inducting, and Supporting New Teachers" awarded to the Board of Regents by the Carnegie Corporation of New York. These services will be required Jan 1, 2009 to June 30, 2009 and include the following: (a) create a small team composed of individuals with top expertise in the relevant domains; (b) use all final analysis ready data sets for the research study (that have been de-identified for all individual and institutional information) to replicate, probe, and audit the analyses completed by the Louisiana team; (c) interview key policy makers (e.g., Commissioner of Higher Education; Superintendent of Education; Board of Regents members; Board of Elementary and Secondary Education members, Department of Education staff, etc.); (d)interview project technical consultants; (e) implement a peer review of the project's printed materials; and (f) serve as a first author at the end of the fiscal year of an evaluation report of the project's work making those observations of the program's strengths and weaknesses that have been identified by the evaluation team.
