Philanthropy Supplement - 2008 Data Collection (Wave 36)

This represents a request for the collection, cleaning, processing, and release of data for the 2009 PSID Philanthropy module.



Voluntary gift of money and time support a large nonprofit sector which, in turn, makes important contributions to the well-being of families. This proposal is designed to collect data on giving, volunteering, and the socialization of children's helping behavior using a philanthropy module in the PSID. The availability of panel data on giving and volunteering permits important advances in the understanding of helping behavior and how it responds to public policy.
