The overall proposal being submitted by Columbia University to the U.S. Department of Education seeks funding to establish the National Research and Development Center on Postsecondary Education and Employment. The University of Michigan subcontract to Columbia is to evaluate the effect of community college courses, credits, degrees, and certificates on labor market outcomes, as well as an evaluation of Michigan's No Worker Left Behind program, and to participate in other activities run through the Center.
