Fieldwork, Research Methods, and Cultural Anthropology

Anthropology 558

3 credit hours, offered biennially

This seminar explores the relation of cultural anthropological theory to research practices in the areas of fieldsite choice and fieldwork strategies including those related to research design and styles of research in mixed method ethnography and survey, rapid assessment, team research, and longitudinal research. It covers introductory elements of the design and analysis process with attention to both statistical and interpretive techniques.
