Qualitative Health Researcher
The Center for Studying Health System Change (HSC) is currently recruiting an experienced qualitative health researcher to help conduct timely, objective and high-quality health policy research and analysis. In addition, the researcher will actively participate in the development of a vibrant research agenda, help develop funding opportunities, and communicate research results to policy makers, private sector decision makers and others.
Major Responsibilities
* Designs and conducts research and analysis that encompass a range of topics impacting health policy.
* Writes journal articles and other HSC publications based on research findings and policy analysis.
* Participates in outreach and dissemination activities related to research and represents HSC in professional meetings and other venues.
* Helps identify and solicit funding opportunities, including helping write proposals for new projects.
* Manages projects, including tracking financial progress and preparing monthly reports.
* Collaborates closely with HSC colleagues.
Qualifications for Position
* Ph.D. in health services research, public health, health economics, epidemiology, social sciences, public policy or other relevant discipline with at least two years of relevant experience. (Master's Degree in one of the noted disciplines with a minimum of five years of relevant experience also will be considered.)
* Ability to identify key health policy issues and demonstrated experience helping to design and conduct research projects and/or analyses that address them.
* Strong analytic and qualitative research skills; knowledge and interest in quantitative research methods a plus.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills; experience writing for a policy audience a plus.
* Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to work efficiently, accurately and independently.
* Ability to work well in a collaborative environment that emphasizes quality, rigor and critical thinking.
