American Psychosomatic Society Annual Scientific Meeting

a Conference

Wednesday, 3/6/2019 to 3/9/2019.   ARCHIVED EVENT

Location: Vancouver, Canada

"Our theme for APS 2019 is "From Body to Mind." This is a topic that the Program Committee has been discussing for years as something SO important for our meeting to spend some time focusing on. We are thrilled that the time has finally come. I think it's fair to say that the bulk of our meetings over the last years have been focused on Mind to Body. That is, how factors like stress, depression, cognitions, or even happiness "get under the skin" and influence our health via pathways like hormones, cardiovascular function, and immune change. While these are obviously topics of critical importance, what we have paid less attention to in our APS themes is how the "under the skin" parts are influencing our minds and wellness, and how altering them might affect health."
