This story says current U.S. government policies that favor existing firms are causing aging in American companies, which in turn is resulting in lower business growth and greater wage inequality. The author cites the work of Charles Brown and James Medoff in suggesting that mature firms pay lower wages than newer firms for equivalent skill, experience, education.
