This story posits two ways that hiring diversity has a positive impact on organizations - it fuels a bigger talent pool and it contributes to better organizational decision making. As concerns the latter, the author cites Scott Page's work that uses mathematical models and case analyses to show how diversity contributes to greater productivity, creativity, and innovation among social units, including work groups. Page says: "Diverse groups of people bring to organizations more and different ways of seeing a problem and, thus, faster/better ways of solving it."
