Frey says Census citizenship question likely to threaten counts in TX, CA, FL, NJ, NY, IL, GA, NC

a PSC In The News reference

"Why putting a citizenship question on the census is a big deal" - CNN Money. 03/28/2018.

The current administration's plans to add a citizenship question to the 2020 Census is getting blowback from those who insist that the move will discourage undocumented immigrants - or those in their families - from responding to the census, thereby increasing the risk of significantly undercounting immigrant, minority, and low-income populations. William Frey notes that this impact would be felt most in states with large immigrant populations, like Texas, California, Florida, New Jersey, New York and Illinois - but also in growing immigrant states like North Carolina and Georgia.
