German Federal Employment Agency Agreement

Research Project Description

This cooperative Agreement establishes a joint venture between UM and the IAB. The purpose of this joint venture is the operation of a research data center (hereinafter the University of Michigan Federal Employment Agency Forschungsdatenzentrum (UM-BA-FDZ)) at ISR. At the UM-BA-FDZ approved data users are provided restricted access to confidential BA or IAB microdata stemming either from German administrative processes or from surveys. These microdata sets will be provided and housed with appropriate safeguards to protect data confidentiality. Access to confidential data and applications, hosted at the Research Data Center at the IAB in Nuremberg, will be provided by a secure link between Ann Arbor and Nuremberg.
