
The Effect of the SNAP Benefits On Household Spending: Evidence from the 2009 Stimulus Legislation
Research Project Description
This project examines the effect on household spending of a recent increase in benefit levels in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) – an important provision of the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), intended to stimulate spending in the economy. This research will estimate the effect of the SNAP increase on both food and nonfood expenditures.
