Children of Disaster: Drought, Lived Experience, and DNA Methylation Signatures

Research Project Description

In Year 1, Dr. Needham will work with the study PI (Dr. Bilinda Straight, Western Michigan University) to design the interview protocol, obtain the necessary materials for the collection of biospecimens, and coordinate the transfer or biospecimens from the study site to the University of Michigan Epigenomics Core, where the DNA methylation assays will be performed. In Year 2, she will help with the analysis of the genome-wide data on DNA methylation and will contribute to the preparation of manuscripts based on study results.
