Dynamics of obesity among children and youth

Research Project Description

The University of Michigan team will be involved in all aspects of study design and implementation. The strengths of this team include the modelling of the health risks associated with obesity and statistical expertise in combining complex longitudinal surveys. As such, the primary role of the group will be the statistical analysis and preparation of the large-scale health surveys proposed. We will obtain all necessary data for the project, develop methodologies for combining surveys, and perform statistical analyses. We will lead and co-author peer reviewed publications focused on methodologies for combining data and on the health risks associated with childhood obesity. We will additionally present findings at professional meetings including the American Statistical Association, Population Association of America, and the Society for Epidemiologic Research.
